Why am I not able to sign up?

  • Your ISIC card has not been activated yet for online use.
  • You 14-digit ISIC number has been incorrectly inserted.
  • Your name on the card has been incorrectly inserted.

Here’s what you can do:

  • The ISIC numbers of ISIC combination cards are activated on the first week of each calendar month. If you ordered your card in March, your ISIC number will be activated at the beginning of April. Check your card has been activated for online use by following this link: https://activate.isic.org/activation/. On that same page you can also activate your ISIC number yourself.
  • Your ISIC number is a 14-digit number printed on your card that commonly begins with S358 if your card has been issued in Finland.  Please double check you have inserted the right card credentials. The name is written in First name Surname order, as is printed on your card.
  • If you are still incurring problems, please contact [email protected]. 

 

Why have I not received the activation email?

  • There was a typo in the email address when you registered on the app.
  • The automated activation email message was caught by your spam filter.
  • Your email provider might have blocked the automated email message.

Here’s what you can do:

 

I cannot login to the app, what can I do?

  • You have tried your login with incorrect details.
  • There is a problem with your account.
  • You are using an ISIC profile that is not accepted.

Here’s what you can do:

  • Ensure you have created an ISIC App profile (See sign-up instructions within the ISIC App). None of the previous ISIC profiles will not work.
  • If you are still incurring problems, please contact [email protected].

 

Where can I find my ISIC number?

ISIC number is a 14-digit number that begins and ends with a letter (S012345678912X) for the ISIC cards printed in Finland. It is printed on your card

  • Below the picture; or
  • On the top-right corner; or
  • reverse side of your digital student ID in Frank App, if you ordered your digital ISIC license via Frank App.

NOTE! Do not insert your 16-numbered MasterCard card number if you have a payment option in your card.

 

I don't have an ISIC card or ISIC number yet, where can I get it?

I am a member of my student union

  • As a member, you are able to download Frank App and activate your digital Finnish student ID. When you have activated your digital student card in Frank App, you are able to purchase the digital ISIC license for the best price in the world: EUR 3 / year!
  • IF you want to have a plastic ISIC card as well, and are
    • a university or UOAS student, please go to Frank's website to order yourself an ISIC combination card for EUR 30,10. Your ISIC license on this card is valid for 5 years according to your term sticker. Please note that you will get your ISIC number when your card arrives to your home address (in c. 7 days from the day of order).
    • a high school student, please go to SLL's website to order yourself an ISIC combination card that is also SLL's membership card. Your ISIC license on this card is valid for 3 years according to your term sticker. Please note that you will get your ISIC number when your card arrives to your home address (in c. 7 days from the day of order).
    • a vocational student, please go to SAKKI's website to order yourself an ISIC combination card that is also SAKKI's membership card. Your ISIC license on this card is valid for 3 years according to your term sticker. Please note that you will get your ISIC number when your card arrives to your home address (in c. 7 days from the day of order).

I am not a member of my student union

  • You can order a 1-year-valid, standard plastic ISIC card from isic.fi for EUR 15. After your card order has been approved, you will immediately receive your ISIC number to your email. Your plastic ISIC card will arrive in 2-3 weeks to your home address. Please note that ISIC alone is not a valid student ID for Finnish train company VR or bus company Matkahuolto. To get those benefits, please join your student union and download Frank App. If you are an exchange student, please note that in order to use Frank App, you need the Finnish personal identity code. It ought be obtained by all exchange students on programmes of at least three (3) months of duration as their personal details must be reported in accordance with the requirements of Statistics Finland and Eurostat.

 

Is the ISIC App free?

Yes, ISIC App is free. ISIC license that you need in order to activate your digital ISIC student ID within the ISIC App, costs EUR 3,00-30,10 according to the information above.


Does the digital ISIC work offline?

If you have activated your digital ISIC card in the ISIC App, you can access it normally also in offline mode. The benefit and ISIC activation only work in online mode.

 

Can I upload or change my photo in the ISIC App?

When we don’t have a photo on file, you can upload a photo to your virtual ID via the App. Go via Menu to your profile screen and upload an image for your virtual ID. Please ensure you upload a passport style, headshot photo.

It is possible to change your photo in the ISIC global app. You can request to have your photo removed at [email protected] by providing your card number and reason for photo removal. After we have removed your photo you can upload a new photo to your virtual card.

Your photo can be removed by the ISIC global office if your profile image doesn’t include your likeness or is not headshot photo.


Which mobile devices are compatible with the ISIC global App?

Currently the following devices are supported:
• Android smartphones & tablets: Android OS 4.4 and higher

• iPhones & iPads: IOS 8.0 and higher

For those users that do not have the above mobile devices please visit the mobile website https://m.isic.org. Windows phones are not supported in ISIC App and ISIC has no plan of beginning to develop a solution for Windows.
